BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance & Management (With Foundation Year)

Course Content

The foundation year is designed to support students who may not hold the standard qualifications or background to enter this field. This helps students develop their academic skills and understanding. In addition to these, you are also introduced to key concepts, skills and techniques which are required to develop your chosen pathway and course further once you have completed your foundation year. This helps set you up to complete your undergraduate with the level of knowledge you will require to develop your basic understanding further.

 

For the Accounting and Finance Management course, you will explore the key skills which you will be utilising in your career and sector. Through this course, you will learn financial reporting, auditing, taxation, legal aspects, managerial accounting and corporate finance. This helps you develop and prepare you for further steps within the accounting and finance sector. In addition to these, you will be able to seek memberships with important work bodies such as the chartered institute of management accountants and financial accountants.

 

Whilst undertaking this course, you will be studying through a mixture of different teaching strategies such as lectures, seminars, tutorials and online sessions. This will vary depending on your chosen course and university.

The course format is face to face and you will have a range of activities such as formative and summative assessments which are designed to check your understanding at the end of each module. These could be in the form of written examinations, coursework, reports, presentations, portfolios.

The course is a 4 year course and has the following timetable options:

London/Leeds/Manchester/Birmingham

Option 1: 2 Days per week.  09:45-14:15 (London/Birmingham)

Option 2: 2 Evenings per week . 16:30-21:00 (Leeds/Manchester)

The course fees are £9,250 per year which is financed by Student Finance.
